It’s you’re not already mad about Mosaic, maybe this tutorial will convince you! I absolutely adore this technique. It’s fun to make and creates absolutely beautiful looking graphic designs. I LOVE modern Mosaic crochet!

WHAT WILL THIS SERIES TEACH ME?
This video will introduce you to the basics of Mosaic Crochet, including:

WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN OVERLAY AND INSET MOSAIC?
Overlay
Stitches worked into BLO or FLO
Pattern work in one row of each colour without turning
Yarn tied off at the end of each row which created lots of ends
Inset
Stitches worked into full stitch
Pattern worked in 2 rows of each colour turning at the end of row
Yarn is not tied off so there aren’t lot’s of ends and you can ‘float’ up yarn.

MATERIALS
Yarn: In the videos I have used MillaMia Naturally Soft Aran in Stone and Ice. However, as this is a general stitch tutorial any yarn can be used!
Hook: Use the correct hook for your yarn. I have used a 5.5mm
I also recommend you download this file: Mosaic Inset PDF, so that you can join in with the video.
PATTERN NOTES
This technique is worked back and forth working 2 rows of one colour at a time. You do not need to tie off your yarn.
Stitches are worked into the full stitch
You will be creating space for the ‘drop down’ treble by creating a chain space.

With the insert mosaic when you do the treble down in the chain two space are you going through the front loop or are you going through the stitch it self?
Hi i have a question
In the inset mosaic video are you going through the front loop of the stitch when you are doing your drop down treble or are you going in between the stitch it self. As i am making this for a christmas present and need to make sure i am doing it right i have been watch the video alot to study it but wasnt sure with the treble.
Please help.
Hi Angel When you work the drop down treble you should work through both loops of the stitch as you would normally. The chain spaces should sit behind of the stitch you’re working
