How cute is this crochet granny square heart? In this post, you’ll learn how to make this granny square. Plus, I’ll show you how to make four lovely projects from this one pattern by changing your yarn and hook size.

Gauge & Size
Your final size will depend on your yarn and hook size. If you want to use these squares for a project I advise measuring your first square and maintaining that tension or your pattern won’t align when joining.

Pattern Notes
- Once you have crocheted a heart granny square you will chain 1 (this doesn’t count as a stitch) and DC around, when you reach the corner space you will double crochet, chain 1, double crochet and repeat until you meet yourself back at the starting double crochet, slip stitch into this first stitch. Fasten off and sew in your ends and there you have a cute heart granny square coaster!

Pattern Notes
- Make two heart granny squares following the pattern. You can make these in any colour way, I have made a reversible crochet cushion using Champagne white for the heart and then washed teal and pale pink for the contrast colour. Before you sew your cushion together you will need to sew in all your ends. With the right side facing you, clip the two granny squares around the cushion insert using your binding clips. Granny stitch together. When you reach the corner space you will crochet 3 treble crochets, chain 3, and 3 tr in the corner space.
- Finished size: approx 16 inch X 16 inch (41 cm X 41 cm)
Tassels: these are optional. If you’d like to add some tassels to the corner of your cushion I have a video tutorial to show you how to make them.
