I’m welcoming Donna from The Hooking Hound on to my blog today with her Om Shanti Crochet Yoga Blanket. This peaceful piece of crochet is ideal for keeping you warm after a calming yoga session, or just to create and enjoy the soothing act of hooking stitches.

“As this is a guest post, Bella Coco Crochet is unable to answer any queries. If you have a question, please contact the designer directly and they will be happy to help you.”

I don’t know about you, but I’m trying to find small moments of self care in my daily life at the moment. It sometimes feels like a constant stream of bad news, that’s snowballing day-by-day, so I think it’s important to take some time out and really look after yourself, both physically and mentally. And for me, there’s no better way to relax than with some crochet.

Donna herself says, “this pattern was inspired by my fabulous yoga teacher who encourages us to keep warm during the relaxation session at the end of each class to preserve the ā€˜prana’ (energy) we have collected.”

Without further ado, it’s time to gather your crochet energy and get hooking!

How to read the crochet yoga blanket pattern:

Each pattern repeat is inside brackets. Any number outside the brackets is only done at the beginning and end of each row. Each dash (-) represents a ch1 space (ch1, miss a stitch, tr)

At the end of each row, turn and ch2 (this counts as the first treble of each row)

This pattern usesĀ UKĀ terminology but switchable to US terms below.

      1. Hi Tessa as this is a guest post blog I do not have the answer to this question, however I would imagine that it depends on the yarn you are using, your hook size and your tension šŸ™‚
