This beginner-friendly blanket is a simple project just using basic stitches and it’s easy to size up or down depending on the size of blanket you want to make. This beautiful celestial blanket makes the most beautiful baby blanket.
A foundation is built for the first 6 rounds. The following 3 rounds will be repeated to desired size. Beginning ch does count as a st.

Hi Tania, Not a stupid question at all You should begin by chaining three and then working eleven treble crochets into the circle, which will give you twelve stitches altogether including the starting chain.

Hi Lucy normally when a pattern has * it means that you repeat from * to *, so basically you repeat whatever it says in between these. I hope this makes sense 🙂
How do you join the motifs please?
Hi Tanya The 12 point star pattern isn’t generally used as motifs; you would normally keep adding rounds until the star is blanket sized
I was wondering why the instructions for treble 2together was given for the 12point star blanket when it’s not actually used in the pattern. Am I missing something?

I know it is meant to be worked until the star is big enough for a blanket but any advice on how to change it into a large granny square? The ombre yarn I’m using does not have enough of one color to get past row 15 without running out in the same row so I am hoping to make a few and join them somehow. Thanks in advance!

Hi! I am wanting to try and make this while changing colors in the middle of the row. It doesn’t seem to be working how I want when I am trying to start the new row with a new color and isn’t making the line as crisp as I would like. Do you have any suggestions or tips?

Hi Hannah For a small to medium size blanket I would say 300g to 400g of DK yarn, but obviously this will depend on your own personal tension as well as how big you want the blanket to be
Hello!!! Adorable pattern, I am stuck on row 6. Is it possible the first part of the instruction is missing? I am finding I’m starting at the wrong spot and it needs a SS to next st before the Ch 3.

HI Cali Thank you, I’m glad you like it There is no mistake with the pattern; I would double check that you’re working the final treble of round 5 into the correct place so that you’re ready to begin round 6 at the correct point.
Hi, Can you do the ( tr, ch 2, tr ) every 4th row instead of every 3rd row..??
I would recommend doing it every third row as per the pattern, as having too many increase rounds will cause your star to ripple at the edges

I guess this is a sport weight yarn which would be rated as 3 ply.
Hi Cynthia a Sport weight yarn (US) is a 4 ply (UK) if you require a 3 ply its a fingering yarn (US). I hope this helps 🙂

Hi Melissa, this would really depend on the type of yarn you are using, your hook size and your personal tension. If you make a swatch you should be able to work it out from that 🙂
Thank you for the pattern and the video tutorial. I just found a small error in your round three written pattern. In the part after the * to * it states to ch2 into the same ch3 space from the beginning. However, there needs to be a treble stitch before the ch2. I had to watch the video to figure this out! 🙂
