I love how easy it is to make, with each stripe adding a cheerful touch that can be easily customised, I have shared come alternative colour combination below.

    Chain(s): ch(s): Yarn over and then pull through

    Double Crochet(s): dc(s): Insert hook into stitch, yarn over, pull up a loop, you will have two loops on the hook. Yarn over, then pull through remaining two loops.

    Double Crochet 2 stitches together (dc2tog): Insert hook into stitch, yo pull through stitch 2 loops on the hook, insert hook into next stitch, yarn over pull through stitch, 3 loops on the hook and finally yarn over and pull through 3 loops.

    Panels: Make 2 (Front panel and back panel)

    For the front panel, rows 1-46 will be worked in the colours stated throughout.
    You will begin with colour C.

    For the back panel, use colour A throughout.

    • Row 1 (RS): Dc in 2nd ch from hook and across. Turn. <4 sts>

    Connecting

    You are viewing this pattern in UK terms.

    Round 1: Ch 1, dc evenly around the edge of the mask working into the posts/stitches.

    Fasten off and break yarn. Weave in ends.

    Connecting both panels

    With wrong sides facing each other, dc in each st, working through both thicknesses using colour C.

    Band

    With colour C and front panel facing you, join with a ss in the first of the 4 dc correspoding with row 1.

    • Row 1: Ch 1 (does not count as st), dc in next 4 sts. Turn <4 dc>
    • Row 2-71: Repeat row 1. You can work more or fewer rows depending on your needs.
    • Row 72: Ss into the 4 corresponding stitches on the opposite edge of the mask.

    Fasten off and sew in ends.
