A note from the designer: Nihal

I have always had a minimalist style bedroom that has few colours and/or textures and I loved it. However as human beings our preferences change RIGHT? So I decided to makeover my room and add a pop of colour and some texture. What is a better way to do this than crochet and pillows?

    Terms & Abbreviations

    • Chain (ch)Yarn over, pull through one loop on hook
    • Single Crochet (sc): Insert hook into stitch, yarn over, pull through two loops (2 loops on hook), yarn over, pull through both loops.
    • Bobble Stitch (bo): Yarn over, insert hook into the next stitch and pull up a loop. Yarn over, pull through two loops as if you are doing the first part of a double crochet (DC) (2 loops on the hook); repeat it until you have 5 HDC on your hook and 1 initial loop (total 6 loops on the hook); yarn over and pull through all 6 loops (1 loop on the hook – pull pretty tight, so your bobble really pops up)
    • Mini Bobble Stitch (mini bo): Yarn over, insert your hook into the next stitch, pull yarn through two loops as if you are doing the first part of a double crochet (DC) (2 loops on the hook); repeat one more time so that you have 2 HDC on your hook and 1 initial loop (total 3 loops on the hook); yarn over and pull through all 3 loops.

    1. The BO stitch description is cut short or wrong fyi but other than that (I’m a bobble stitch fanatic so I got it) I’m so excited to get this done and I’m only on row 10 it’s such and amazing design

      1. Gosh, I’m really having a hard time finding a pillow form 12×27(or anything close) in USA. Anyone have any tips? Also the question about row 76 wasn’t answered. Is it the same as 75? Or?

        1. BellaCocoTeam

Hi Deanna, we were informed by the guest blogger that their was an error in the pattern which has now been amended as follows:- Instead of row 77 it should be row 76 and instead of row 78-79 it should be row 77-79! Hope this helps 🙂

        2. I too cannot find a 12×27 insert. Closest I could come was a 12×24 in Amazon.ca. Probably going to have to make my own.

      2. Hi Barbara am nihal the designer of the pattern it is just a typo so instead of row 77 it should be row 76 and instead of row 78-79 it should be row 77-79 sorry for any inconvenience! I sent a notice to the website admin and it will be corrected as soon as possible!

    2. I just love this design so much! I’m thinking about turning this pillow design into a blanket. I can already picture it

    3. I’m still a newbie to crochet and loving it. Would it be the same using dk wool for this? Still struggling to understand different types and ply’s.

      1. BellaCocoTeam

Hi Karen DK yarn is a little thicker than the yarn used for this pillow. You could still use it but it will work up a little bigger

Hi Hannah, as this was a guest post you would probably be better asking the designer direct Nihal Salem from Topknotch Crochet and I’m sure she will be able to help you 🙂

Hi Diane as this is a guest post you will have to contact the designer directly and she will be able to help you 🙂

    4. Thanks for the free patterns ! Will be making the long pillow first – the form = sew a case and use poly fil to get the size you need , simple. Love your creations .

      1. BellaCocoTeam

Hi Tasha I’m glad you like the pattern As you have a shorter pillow, I would recommend skipping some of the repeats at either end – for example you could skip the two rows of bobbles.
