Learn how to crochet a beautiful rose following my free step by step pattern. There is also a video tutorial that can also be found at the base of this blog post. This lovely crochet motif can be used to embellish your projects such as: hats, scarves, gloves or you can turn them into a beautiful bunch of keepsake flowers, flower crowns or floral wreath. This quick and easy crochet motif has so much potential.

Materials and Tools needed
- Yarn: Stylecraft Special DK
- Hook: 4mm
- Scissors
- Darning Needle

Convert Pattern Terms
Here you can quickly switch between UK and US crochet terms. This will make following the pattern easier as all terms will be converted to your preferred version.
Abbreviations
Pattern written in UK terms but switchable to US terms above.
Chain Space(ch-sp)
Slip Stitch (ss): Insert hook into space, yarn over and pull through stitch and loop on hook
Chain (ch): Yarn over, pull through one loop on hook.
Treble crochet (tr): Yarn over, insert hook into stitch, yarn over, pull up a loop, you will have three loops on the hook. Yarn over, pull through two loops, yarn over, pull through remaining two loops.

Foundation: Ch 60 (or in any multiple of 4 to adapt your size)
How to Adapt
If you would like to make your roses bigger, simply choose some chunky yarn and a bigger hook size. You can either refer to the yarn label for the recommended hook size or you can play around with different hook sizes. For example:





This is how they look bunched together, the roses have been attached to thin floristry wire and secured into oasis at the bottom of the tea pot. You could also add some crochet leaves, CLICK HERE for the pattern.
